What was one assumption that you had about these individuals (or their families) that was challenged?
I had never thought much about the trauma that an icu stay can have. I have always had more of a provider perspective of “we’re here and doing this to save your life.”
What was the most important takeaway for you?
To have a better perspective on how others that are receiving care are feeling.
What is one thing you would do differently with your patients in the future?
Have more empathy for what patients are experiencing and be mindful of this during conversations.
What other topics would be helpful for you in the future?
